Your Trip

Day One

Morning

Start your foodie weekend getaway off with a cup of joe at Cubanissimo Cuban Coffee House & Cafe. This local favorite serves up rich Cuban coffee, buttery pastries and savory breakfast classics that’ll transport your tastebuds straight to Havana. It’s the kind of breakfast that sets the tone for a delicious day ahead.

And, before your next bite, make time for a stroll back in time at the DANA Adobe Cultural Center.

Afternoon

Luffa Farm near Santa MariaDid you know that luffas are made from gourds? Fun fact! When young and tender, they’re able to be eaten—but if you want to focus on exfoliating your body instead of fueling it, check out The Luffa Farm as part of your food vacation destination. This business is one of the only growers of luffa sponges in the entire country. They use special heirloom seeds to produce soft luffas all year long. Take a tour of the property, learn a few things, and bring a luffa home as a souvenir!

Then, it’s time to sip and snack. Riverbench Vineyard & Winery offers a dreamy experience for foodies and wine enthusiasts alike. Locals and visitors alike love their Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and sparkling wines. Each of them pairs deliciously with their curated charcuterie.

Evening

We know you know about Santa Maria Style barbecue. But do you know one of the most popular places to find it? The Swiss. Food comes fresh off of their red oak barbecue pit, giving that distinct and classic Santa Maria Valley flavor. This is a can’t-miss restaurant in this California foodie destination.

If you want sweet dreams, stop by to eat dessert at Nite Creamery. This isn't your ordinary ice cream—it's made with liquid nitrogen to create an ultra-smooth scoop. Milk & Gold, Roast Malone, and All Niter are fan favorites, but they also have limited flavors occasionally. Now for the big question: cup or cone?

Day Two

Morning/Early Afternoon

After a long night's rest, recharge with brunch at Bell's. This family-run, French-inspired bistro is the perfect place to enjoy worldly cuisine and sip on wine from Santa Maria Valley and around the world.

Head over to Lompoc for La Purísima Mission State Historic Park, one of the crown jewels of Central Valley history. With one of the most authentic- looking settings of all the missions, La Purisima takes visitors back to the 1800s with its livestock, plants, and restored rooms.

Afternoon

Shop, sip, and stroll in the heart of Santa Maria Valley: Old Town Orcutt. Go antiquing at Deja Vu Antiques or check out some art at Valley Art Gallery

Once you’ve shopped till you’re ready to drop, treat yourself to a refreshing break in this California foodie destination. Grab an ice-cold craft beer at Naughty Oak Brewing Company or Blast 825 Brewery, two local favorites known for their bold brews and lively atmospheres. Both spots often host events, including live music sets.

Evening

To end night two of your food vacation destination, dine on tasty dishes at The Garden Mediterranean Restaurant & Cafe, from hummus and lebneh to kebabs and grilled salmon fillet. They have an outdoor space where you can eat dinner with your furry friend. And don't forget to try one of the many selections on The Garden's home bakery menu!

Day Three

Morning

What better way to spend your final morning of your foodie weekend getaway than chowing down at Cups & Crumbs in Orcutt? This café serves up fresh-baked pastries, hearty breakfast plates, and specialty coffees that’ll hit the spot.

Afternoon

Once you’re fueled and fed, make your way to Guadalupe, a small town with big character. Nearby are the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes, a National Wildlife Refuge that boasts stunning scenery. If you’re looking for a way to stretch your legs before heading out of the Central Coast, this area is perfect for outdoor adventures (hello, ATVs and horseback riding!).

Pop into the Guadalupe Social Club for a beverage and a snack. This stylish-yet-unpretentious spot has all the makings of a great afternoon hang: local wines, craft beers, and a welcoming community vibe.

Evening

End your foodie weekend getaway with modern Mexican fare at Beso Cocina. This restaurant features elevated appetizers, hearty plates, and mouthwatering cocktails that are as creative as they are delicious. Pro tip: Get at least one order of corn ribs. Oh, and there’s also a hidden speakeasy tucked inside. Ask nicely and you might just get in.
