Your Trip

Day One

Morning

This trip is all about relaxation—so snuggle down and sleep in a bit longer. Get your morning kick with a cup of joe and a hearty breakfast at Cubanissimo Cuban Coffee House & Cafe.

After breakfast, head down to the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes. This National Wildlife Refuge showcases stunning scenery and is perfect for outdoor recreation (hello, ATVs and horseback riding!). On the way to your next stop, step back in time at the DANA Adobe Cultural Center.

Afternoon

Luffa Farm near Santa MariaVisit one of the only growers of luffa sponges in the entire country at The Luffa Farm. This business uses special heirloom seeds to produce soft luffas all year long. Take a tour of the property and bring a luffa home as a souvenir!

Then, it's time to sip and swirl. Named "the most unique tasting room on the Central Coast", Costa de Oro offers some of the finest wines Santa Maria Valley has to offer in a cozy outdoor setting. Visit the tasting room anytime between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m., and you might even catch some live music!

Evening

We know you know about Santa Maria Style barbecue. But do you know one of the most popular places to find it? The Swiss. Food here comes fresh off of their red oak barbecue pit, giving that distinct, classic, Santa Maria Valley flavor.

If you want sweet dreams, you'll stop by to eat dessert at Nite Creamery. This isn't your ordinary ice cream–it's all made fresh with liquid nitrogen to create an ultra-smooth scoop. Cup or cone is up to you—you can't go wrong with either!

Day Two

Morning/Early Afternoon

After a long night's rest, recharge with brunch at Bell's. This family-run, French-inspired bistro is the perfect place to enjoy fantastic cuisine and sip on award-winning wine from Santa Maria Valley and around the world.

Then, go back in time at La Purisima Mission Historic State Park, one of the crown jewels of Central Valley history. With one of the most authentic looking settings of all the missions, La Purisima takes visitors back to the 1800s with its livestock, plants, and restored rooms.

Afternoon

Shop, sip, and stroll in the heart of Santa Maria Valley: Old Town Orcutt. Go antiquing at Deja Vu Antiques or check out some art at Valley Art Gallery. Once you've shopped to till you're ready to drop, sip on craft beer or local wine at Steller's Cellar.

Evening

To end the night, dine on delicious mediterranean food at The Garden Mediterranean Restaurant & Cafe. Savor a hearty meal of grilled salmon or lamb. And don't forget to try one of the many selections on The Garden's home bakery menu!
