Corazon Del Pueblo: Book Tour “The Sign Catcher”

Join us for a celebration and reading of an important new book by author Otilio

Quintero, “The Sign Catcher” just published by Arte Público Press, (name of supporting org).

The book covers Quintero’s real-life journey and evolution from his humble rural origins. as a poor and at-risk youth in California’s San Joaquin Valley, until his trip with the mayan indians. His brush with incarceration in the New Jersey prison system, until his later achievements in life as a violence prevention youth and community activist engaged with historic social justice leaders, including co-founder of United Farm Workers. Co-founder Dolores Huerta, legendary actor and human rights activist Harry Belafonte, and the late Native American warrior and peace activist Dennis Banks.

This community event will feature important Latino celebrities such as actress Ingrid Oliu (“Stand & Deliver”), Danny Villarreal (“Stand & Deliver”), and actor Jesse Borrego (“Blood In Blood Out” and “Vida”). Please join us for this free event. You won’t want to miss it!
