The flavors of the Central Coast herald the arrival of spring as more than 100 Santa Barbara County wineries, restaurants, caterers and specialty food purveyors present the 2017 Santa Barbara Vintners New Release Spring Weekend. This is an opportunity to attend winemaker lunches and dinners, educational wine-focused seminars, winery and tasting room open houses, vineyard walks, and the Festival Grand Tasting at Riverview Park in Buellton.

The Great American Melodrama 1863 Front St., Oceano
A villain (boo!), a hero (yay!), a heroine (aww!), and trusty sidekicks run amok in this musical romp. An orphaned farm girl, Constance Goodwin, attempts to save the family farm from the villainous Friedrich von Fouler. Can our strapping hero, Jack Strongfellow, stop the villain in time? Can he save Constance from her ironic fate and launch her dairy empire? Find out in the West Coast premiere of this new musical.

PCPA’s Marian Theatre 870 S. Bradley, Santa Maria
This riotous tale of mistaken identities and unexpected romance explodes with delight in this brand new musical comedy based on the Tony Award nominated play. Itʼs 1934 and opera virtuoso Tito Merelli is about to revive one of his great triumphs for the ten-year anniversary of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company. When Tito becomes unexpectedly incapacitated, a suitable replacement must be found. Who is cavalier enough to replace him?

There will be a professional competition with local celebrity judges that will vote on the “Best BBQ” in our area as local businesses and professionals compete for bragging rights and our #1 Branding Iron award. There will also be a separate competition for “best backyard cook” and will have beer tasting available from 12 different Local and Regional Craft Breweries in our “Brews & Cues” event.
