“Orchid Hunters” Show and Sale

Here’s a chance to take in the beauty of exotic orchids while benefiting The Dunes Center, a Santa Maria Valley ecological treasure. The 22nd annual Central Coast Orchid Show & Sale and Companion Plants event takes place April 1-2. Sponsored by the Five Cities Orchid Society, the event is held at the South County Regional Center in Arroyo Grande and offers exhibits, orchid judging, re-potting demonstrations, plant doctors and a large variety of orchid plants, books and supplies for sale. A raffle will benefit The Dunes Center.

The Orchid Show and Sale admission on Saturday from 9 – 5, and Sunday 10-5 p.m. is $6 for adults and children 12 or under are free. 

A pre-show elegant evening on March 31 from 6:30 p.m. — 9:30 p.m. is also planned. The Orchid Show Preview Benefit for the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Center will feature celebrity orchid judging; the chance to taste Central Coast wines; hors d’oeuvres; and live music.   Preview tickets are $50.
