Enjoy Living History at La Purisima’s “Mission Life Day”

Visitors have the chance to observe and participate in the Mission-era lifestyle at “Mission Life Day” happening on March 17 at La Purisima Mission State Historic Park in Lompoc. This living history day will demonstrate activities such as tortilla making; candle making; soap making; spinning and weaving; carpentry; pottery; and blacksmithing which were vital to supply the needs of mission inhabitants. The 11th of the 21 Franciscan Missions established in California, Misión la Purisima Concepción de Maria Santísima (Mission of the Immaculate Conception of Most Holy Mary) was founded by Father Presidente Fermín de Lasuén on December 8, 1787.
