CENTRAL COAST CRAFT BEER WEEK

CENTRAL COAST CRAFT BEER WEEK Hosted By LOCAL BREWERS GUILD

Central Coast Craft Beer Week is March 24-April 2, 2017

Buellton, California— What is often referred to as wine country, the central coast of California is quickly gaining recognition for its craft beer. In the past decade, small breweries have been popping up throughout the area with a variety of establishments: production breweries, brewpubs with restaurants and tasting rooms. With the rise of new breweries on the Central Coast, comes the growth of a local brewers’ guild known as the Central Coast Beer Trail. This nonprofit group is made up of local craft breweries in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties and will soon be expanding to include Monterey and Ventura counties.

“We are thrilled to have grown so fast over the past year. We started out with a small board of directors and now have 34 brewery members,” exclaims President of the Central Coast Beer Trail, Kady Fleckenstein. “Our local craft breweries are taking ownership over the beer trail by joining together to spread the word about the great craft beers in our region.” After launching a new website, social media pages on Facebook and Instagram and distributing a printed beer trail map throughout the coast, the association is taking the next step by creating a craft beer week.

Central Coast Craft Beer Week will be held from Friday, March 24th through Sunday, April 2, 2017. This annual promotion will feature events hosted by the Central Coast Beer Trail as well as brewery events in taprooms and retail locations.

The week includes two fundraising events for the nonprofit. On Friday, March 31 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm there will be a Central Coast Beer Trail Tap Takeover at Libertine Brewing Company in their new San Luis Obispo taproom, The Libertine, located at 1234 Broad Street. Over 30 central coast breweries will have a beer on tap for a chance to purchase beers from throughout the region.

Ending the festivities for the week is the Best of the Central Coast Beer Trail on Sunday, April 2nd from noon to 4:00 pm. Hosted by the brewers’ guild, this tasting event will be held at 418 N Salsipuedes Street adjacent to Telegraph Brewing Co. in Santa Barbara. For only $30 in advance or $40 at the door until sold out, guests can enjoy unlimited samples of beers from over twenty local breweries. New breweries are being added daily. Tickets can be purchased at http://bestofcentralcoastbeer.nightout.com through April 1st, 2017.
