8th Annual OCAF Chalk Festival

Every last Saturday of September, we turn downtown Old Town Orcutt into an explosion of chalk art masterpieces, live music, public art, and community engagement. Since 2011, the OCAF Chalk Festival has turned into a hugely popular event that brings over 1000 people to Historic Old Town Orcutt on Saturday, September 28th. This year theme is “FEAST ON THE ARTS”, highlighting the artist creation of the culinary arts.

The Chalk Festival features over two dozen arts and craft booths, nonprofit organization, kids’ corner and fabulous culinary pop-ups & food trucks. Experience an amazing array of locally created art, custom jewelry, and woodworking. Feed that hunger by supporting our local food trucks serving up a variety of tasty food options. Encourage kids’ creativity at our KIDS Corner.

The main attraction of the Chalk Festival are the sidewalk/street chalk paintings that are created over the course of the day. Supported by our generous Sponsors, and brought to life by our talented Volunteer Artists, these squares turn from gray concrete paths to beautiful expressions of artistic vision. Chalk artists begin these chalk masterpieces early in the morning of the festival and the public is encouraged to watch their progress throughout the day.
