83rd Annual Solvang Danish Days
“Solvang Danish Days,” celebrates its 83rd anniversary in 2019 with a 3-day event weekend line-up, Friday through Sunday, September 20 through 22. The 2019 Solvang Danish Days theme – “A Salute to Denmark’s Flag: Celebrating 800 Years of Dannebrog” (the Danish flag, “Dannebrog”, turned ‘800’ this year) – will be observed during the weekend festival, which honors the 1911 establishment of Solvang by Danish-Americans.
Solvang Danish Days 2019 will once again provide attendees with a total Danish immersion experience while helping to preserve Solvang’s authentic Danish heritage, and will offer an on-line purchase-only “Dane For A Day” VIP ticket bundle for guests looking to “live like Vikings” throughout the event weekend.
Solvang Danish Days continues to expand upon its varied activities melding more modern Danish practices with traditional ways, yet still exemplifying everything Danish. The weekend’s numerous offerings, encompassing activities for all ages, range from fan-favorite food events surrounding Aebleskiver, the iconic Danish pastry rounds; to a Danish-style beer and wine garden serving Danish import, Carlsberg beer, alongside local brews and wines; to interactive history lessons at the Elverhoj Museum; a Viking Encampment in Solvang Park; to an axe throwing arena (NEW for 2019!); a guided Solvang Food & Photo Tour (also NEW!); restaurant and bar promotions scattered about the town, and an Old World artisanal crafts marketplace.
