Since 1952, The Hitching Post has been a legendary Santa Maria Valley dining spot and an icon of Santa Maria Style Barbecue.
Now, in its 65th year, the restaurant is offering an anniversary special: Two 10-ounce New York Steak dinners for $65. Other surprise offerings are being unveiled daily on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
Located in Casmalia in a historic hotel building that once served workers during the oil and railroad boom times, The Hitching Post is situated 12 miles southwest of Santa Maria along Highway 1.
The Hitching Post uses an impressive indoor barbecue pit in which it burns local red oak chosen to impart just the right flavor into only the finest aged beef and other entrees. Guests enjoy the restaurant’s Old West atmosphere and warm hospitality.
