Dog owners, equestrians, birders, mountain bikers and hikers are discovering Los Flores Ranch Park, a Santa Maria Valley park that offers 1,800 acres of open space and a range of stunning trails and vistas. Here, free guided nature walks are offered the second Saturday of the month, starting soon in February and continuing through November.

Located eight miles south of Santa Maria on the east side of Highway 101 in the Solomon Hills, the park offers trails on existing dirt paths and paved roads that were originally created for oil and ranch operations. Visitors appreciate the well-marked trails as well as rest stops with drinking water, cups and port-a-potties. Dogs on leashes are welcome!

Other  upcoming events include a Moonlight Mountain Bike Ride on January 13 at 6 p.m.; a Moonlight Horseback Ride on January 14 at 5 p.m.; and a Star Gazing Party on January 28 at 6 p.m.
