The Santa Maria Civic Theatre

The Santa Maria Civic Theatre was founded on a passion for bringing live theatre performances to the community. Founded by Meg and Tom Smith in 1959, the organization was officially incorporated as a non-profit educational institution in 1961. The theatre has since become a cornerstone of local entertainment, known for its commitment to presenting first-rate productions. From free fairy tale performances to Broadway musicals, the theatre has delighted audiences and served as a creative outlet for local talent. Housed in an intimate 100-seat venue, the theatre offers excellent acoustics and clear sightlines from every angle, making for an engaging audience experience. Despite its modest origins, the Santa Maria Civic Theatre continues to provide a welcoming, creative space for performers and audiences alike, always striving to improve while staying true to its community-driven roots.
