The Santa Maria Philharmonic Society presents classical music concerts each season to enthusiastic audiences, as well as special programs for the children of the community. Yuletide Brass: An Evening of Holiday Favorites; Pops Internationale: with Chorus and Dancers; and a Concerto Competition Winners Concert are just a few of the programs on this year’s schedule.
Central West Produce
Family-grown on the Central Coast since 1979, Central West Produce grows some of the area’s finest berries including strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries, or what they call a “berry triple threat”.
Paradise via Point Sal Trail
This popular, hard, 10-mile backpacking trail takes hikers to Point Sal beach. It’s an out and back trail also near Casmalia. This trail features beautiful wild flowers and views of the ocean, Sea Lion Rock and cliffside views. Dogs are also able to use this trail but be aware that this trail is long.
Sand Highway Trail
Sand Highway is a moderate, 10-mile out and back trail located near Nipomo, California that offers scenic views. The trail is primarily used for off-road driving and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Paradise Beach Backpacking Trail
This hard, 15.9-mile trail is popular among backpackers. It’s an out and back style trail located near Guadalupe, offering scenic views. This trail is a difficult trek over sand and hills, but the end result and the views you’ll be rewarded with are worth the effort. The trail is best used from April until October.
