The Foxen Canyon Wine Trail Presents Christmas on the Trail

November 21, 2017

Deck the halls with glasses of wine. The Foxen Canyon Wine Trail is hosting Christmas on the Trail on December 9th and 10th. Thirteen wineries along the historic Foxen Trail have banded together to revive this holiday event.

“We expect approximately 200 locals and out-of-towners for this signature event,” said Elizabeth Gunn-Baumann of Foxen Winery. “Our passport event is designed for visitors to spend the weekend exploring the Trail. We want them to not just sample our incredible world-class wines, but experience us and our history, our people and our character.”

Guests will receive a passport with 20 squares printed on the back. Each square equals a 1 oz. pour that they can redeem at any of the 13 participating wineries. They will also get a “stocking stuffer” of Susie Q pinquito beans and seasoning, a logo wine glass, exclusive wine discounts, and tasty treats at each winery on Saturday like cheese, freshly baked Christmas cookies and local chocolates. On Sunday, the wineries will host live music, olive oil tastings and more.

The goal is to reach locals and out-of-towners that may not be aware of this beautiful and vital part of the Santa Maria and Santa Ynez Valleys. Besides providing a hub for the tourist industry, the wineries on Foxen Canyon also provide jobs in viticulture and the service industry as well as a point of pride with the award-winning wines produced here.

Santa Maria Valley is an acclaimed wine-growing region, and one of six federally recognized American Viticultural Areas (AVA) within Santa Barbara County, which encompasses one of the top wine regions in the world. It is the ideal home base for those looking to enjoy California’s Central Coast. You’ll find the Santa Maria Valley nestled amongst rolling rows of produce and the foothills of Santa Barbara Wine Country, while enjoying the cool ocean breeze that rolls in from the coast. It was named The New Top 10 Cities for Wine Snobs by The Travel Channel.
