Santa Maria Civic Theatre Presents August: Osage County

SANTA MARIA CIVIC THEATRE will be presenting “AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY” by Tracy Letts as the opening show for its 61st season. The 2008 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner – a vanished father; a pill-popping, scathingly acidic mother, and three sisters harboring shady little secrets. When the large Weston family unexpectedly reunites after Dad disappears, their Oklahoma family homestead explodes in a maelstrom of repressed truths and unsettling secrets. Balancing powerful drama and dark comedy, Letts’ play is “Fiercely funny and bitingly sad…a turbocharged tragicomedy” (The New York Times).
