59th Annual Beard-A-Reno

The annual Beard-A-Reno, which began in 1960, typically is the first event to launch the Santa Maria Valley’s annual Elks Rodeo season.

Custom-made silver belt buckles will be awarded to the winners of tweleve ‘whisker’ growing categories, which include: longest beard, blackest beard, whitest beard, reddest beard, best goatee, best mustache, best sideburns, best attempt, wildest, best western characterization, ladies’ choice, and best all around.

The Beard-A-Reno doors will open on Saturday, May 19th at 5:30pm, with dinner serving from 5:30pm through 7:00pm. The contest judging begins promptly at 6:30pm. Following the judging, there will be dancing and entertainment!
