Leann Rimes to light up the stage at the Santa Maria Fairpark!

SANTA MARIA—With a mesmerizing voice and an evocative set list of hit songs, two-time Grammy-winning country vocalist Leann Rimes will perform her hits at the 2017 Santa Barbara County Fair, Saturday, July 15.

Rimes’ vocal stylings grabbed the attention of country music audiences when she was just a young girl, and not long after she would become a powerhouse in country music. She first earned worldwide acclaim at just 13 years old with “Blue,” a Patsy Cline-inspired song that showed vocal depth and maturity. In 1997 the song’s success made her the youngest person to win a Grammy. She took home the award for Best New Artist and Best Female Country Vocal Performance.

She followed “Blue” with several country pop hits like “One Way Ticket (Because I Can),” “The Cattle Call,” “The Light in Your Eyes,” “Nothin’ Better To Do,” “How Do I Live,” and “Til We Ain’t Strangers Anymore,” a duet with Jon Bon Jovi.

Santa Maria Fairpark CEO Richard Persons said Rimes is a talented artist whose vocal ability never fails to impress audiences.

“Ms. Rimes has an extraordinary voice, and she has the ability to captivate the audience with her vocal range, catchy tunes, and stage presence,” he said. “It’s going to be a spectacular night at the 2017 Santa Barbara County Fair the minute she steps on stage.”

Having sold more than 37 million records worldwide, she’s won two Grammys, three ACMs, a CMA, 12 Billboard Music Awards, and one American Music award.

Not one to be still long, Rimes recently released the single “Long Live Love,” off her album Remnants. She’s also embarked on a world tour in support of the album.

Rimes will perform at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 15, at the Santa Barbara County Fair (Santa Maria Fairpark) on the KCOY Main Stage. All performances in the Bud Light Concert Series are free with paid Fair admission.

This year’s Fair theme is “Once Upon a Fair.” General admission for the Fair is $8 for ages 6-11; $10 for ages 12-61; and $8 for ages 62 and older. Kids 5 and younger are always free! Parking is just $7.

The Santa Barbara County Fair runs July 12-16.
