The good news keeps coming from Sunset Magazine. First, the magazine published food editor Margo True’s epic 10-page feature story declaring Santa Maria “the West’s best barbecue town.”
Now, True has posted a custom Santa Maria Style Barbecue map, showcasing her top picks for enjoying our regional culinary tradition, including Santa Maria Valley favorites such as the Hitching Post, Shaw’s, Far Western Tavern, Santa Maria Elks Lodge, Filipino Community Center Food Truck and others. She says the map is “based on the three overstuffed years I spent researching—canvassing experts, visiting restaurants, and eating well north of 100 pounds of meat.”
