Historic photos that mark various important events, people and places that shaped the Santa Maria Valley can now be seen and enjoyed by all in the newly published Santa Maria Valley Historical Society Museum 2018 Calendar.

Pulled from the museum archives, the calendar’s 13 photos include many sites that have long since disappeared, such as the American Bakery, which was located at 213 South Broadway in 1937.

The calendar’s cover features Antonio Ascarate, a cement contractor who helped change the face of the northeast corner of Broadway and Main streets. The calendar ($12; or two for $20) may be purchased at the Santa Maria Valley Historical Society Museum located at 616 S. Broadway.
