Santa Maria Civic Theatre Presents: Little Shop of Horrors

The meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant he names “Audrey II” – after his coworker crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down and out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it, BLOOD. Over time, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s out of this world origins and intent towards global domination!

Based on the classic Roger Corman film, Little Shop of Horrors features early 1960’s Doo-wop and Motown style songs that will have you singing from skid row to outer space!

Quique Escamilla opens the 14th season of ¡Viva el Arte de Santa Bárbara! with his powerful, original songs in Spanish and English inspired by political and social issues: human rights, immigration, conservation, racism and oppression. Originally from Chiapas, Mexico, this multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter blends Mexican folk music such as huapango and rancheras with jazz, pop and rock.
